Pain does not wait for a convenient moment. It strikes on the rugby pitch, at the office desk, in the middle of the night, and on the morning commute. That is why Polar Frost® was engineered not as a single product but as a complete, precision pain management system  - eight purpose-built formats, one clinically validated formula, designed to meet you wherever pain finds you.

The Science Behind Every Format;

Every product in the Polar Frost collection is built on the same core innovation: the Aloe-First Matrix. While conventional cold gels use alcohol or water as their primary base – leading to rapid evaporation and skin desiccation. Polar Frost uses Aloe Barbadensis leaf extract as the functional transdermal vehicle.

Aloe's lignin content actively enhances menthol penetration through the stratum corneum, carrying the active ingredients deeper into affected tissue than any alcohol-based formula can achieve. At the same time, Aloe's Bradykinin-inhibiting enzymes target pain and inflammation at a biochemical level while its humectant properties protect the skin barrier even with daily, long-term application.

Drug-Free. Non-Addictive. Safe for Everyone.

Every product in the Polar Frost range is strictly drug-free; containing no NSAIDs (such as Ibuprofen or Diclofenac), no steroids, and no opioid compounds.

Pain relief is achieved purely through neurological modulation at the peripheral level, with no interaction with central opioid receptors and no risk of dependency, tolerance build-up, or drug-drug interactions.

This makes Polar Frost uniquely safe for elderly patients on complex polypharmacy regimens, for athletes subject to anti-doping regulations, for pregnant women (consult your healthcare provider), and for anyone seeking a non-pharmaceutical approach to pain management.

FAQ

What conditions does the Polar Frost gel help with?

The Polar Frost range is effective for acute sports injuries (sprains, strains, contusions) and chronic pain conditions (arthritis, fibromyalgia, and RSI), back pain, neck pain and cervical tension, post-workout DOMS; tendinitis; post-operative rehabilitation, and pain conditions involving touch sensitivity such as allodynia. The heat roll-on addresses the warming therapy spectrum – chronic stiffness, morning joint tightness, and pre exercise muscle preparation.

How does Polar Frost Gel actually relieve pain?

Through two complementary scientific mechanisms:
(1) TRPM8 Receptor Activation — menthol chemically binds to cold receptor ion channels on sensory nerve fibres, generating a rapid neurological 'cold' signal that is perceived as deep cooling without freezing tissue.

(2) Gate Control Theory — these fast thermal signals travel via large diameter A-beta fibres, arriving at the spinal dorsal horn before slower pain carrying C-fibres and activating inhibitory interneurons that close the pain gate, blocking nociceptive signals before they reach the brain.

Which gel size should I buy for home use?

For regular home use, the 500 ml pump bottle offers the best value and the most versatile application for large areas like the back, thighs, and shoulders. For localised joint or tendon pain at home, the 150ml tube offers targeted precision with weeks of supply. If you are new to Polar Frost, the 100 ml bottle is the ideal starting size.

Which gel is best for sports and gym use?

The 150 ml tube fits in any gym bag and provides targeted post-workout application to specific muscles and joints. The 75 ml Cold Roll-On is excellent for hands-free self-application to the neck, IT band, and shoulder. For competition days, carry the 20 ml mini-tube or 5g sachets for immediate on-the-go relief.

Which gel format is right for a physiotherapy clinic?

The ml pump bottle is the clinical standard - hygienic single-handed dispensing, excellent cost-per-use, and compatible with ultrasound and TENS coupling protocols.

The 200ml Spray is essential for acute injury management where skin contact is too painful. 5g Sachets are ideal for patient trial packs and single-use clinical application.

Are Polar Frost Gels drug-free and safe for athletes?

Yes. Polar Frost contains no NSAIDs, no steroids, and no opioid compounds. It works purely through peripheral neurological modulation. There are no prohibited substances under World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) regulations. It is fully safe for all competitive athletes, including those subject to strict anti-doping testing.

Can elderly patients use Polar Frost Gels safely?

Yes, and it is specifically recommended as a safer alternative to long-term oral NSAIDs for elderly patients. Because it is non-systemic (applied topically, not ingested), it carries no risk of gastric ulceration, renal impairment, or cardiovascular events associated with chronic NSAID use. There are no drug drug interactions, making it safe for patients on complex polypharmacy regimens. The Aloe formula is also safe for fragile elderly skin.
